Artist Statement

The best photographs tell a story or ask a question, but more than that, they reveal, and hold forever, a moment that might have passed unnoticed - the quiet beauty of a bemused expression, the glinting drift of mist in the morning sun, storm clouds playing light across the water.

My connection to the world is revealed in my photographs. I’m fascinated by the held-breath quality of photographic images. With camera in hand, I’m always looking for the instant when light transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, when the world is between breaths, when magic is present for us to see if we take the time.
