Artist Statement

The best photographs tell a story, but more than that, they capture a moment that might have passed unnoticed — a bemused expression, the quiet beauty of mist in the morning sun, storm clouds playing light across the water.

My vision of the world is revealed in my photographs. I’m fascinated by the held-breath quality of photographic images. With camera in hand, I’m look for the instant when light transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, when the world is between breaths, when magic is present for us to see if we take the time.
